Our Team
We have a dedicated and highly capable team of fifteen staff who we consider to be the equal of any in the industry. Our team has a broad range of experience in all facets of publicly funded civil infrastructure including planning, estimating, design and construction. This broad experience is evidenced by five members of our team holding RPEQ status and members of our team having previously held positions such as District Director in TMR and Director of Engineering in LGA’s.
We understand that the quality of our team is critical to our long-term viability and therefore we are highly selective in our recruitment which we feel sets us apart.
Meet The Team
Robert McCarthy ~ Director
Robert is a Professional Engineer (RPEQ, CPEng, TMD) with over 11 years’ experience delivering a broad range of publicly funded civil infrastructure projects in a variety of roles for both the Principal and Principal Contractor. Since establishing CRC, Robert has chosen to focus on developing strong and mutually beneficial relationships with clients including LGA’a and DTMR.
Luke Marshall ~ Principal Designer (Civil)
Luke is a Principal Designer with over 17 years’ experience since commencing as a cadet with TMR. He has broad experience with both TMR and LGA’s and is highly skilled in 12D Model design software. Luke is CRC’s service delivery lead for Civil Design and Hydraulic Design services.
Tom Penrose ~ Principal Engineer (Civil)
Tom is a Professional Engineer (RPEng, RPEQ, TMD) with over 11 years’ experience in the areas of planning, design, contract administration, construction supervision and operations management. Tom is CRC’s service delivery lead for Engineering and Certification services.
Tim Schluter ~ Principal Engineer (Civil)
Tim is a Professional Engineer (RPEQ, TMD) with 11 years’ experience in fulfilling a variety of civil engineering and management roles. Tim has focused his career on planning, and delivery of construction and maintenance projects. Tim is CRC’s service delivery lead for Transport Planning and Cost Estimating services.
Glenn Alexander ~ Principal Engineer (Civil)
Glenn is a Professional Engineer (RPEQ) with over 27 years’ experience in the development and delivery of publicly funded civil infrastructure projects. Through the course of his career, Glenn has held a variety of planning and design positions within LGA’s. Glenn is CRC’s service delivery lead for DRFA Event related services.
Lawry O'Brien ~ Advisor - Preconstruction
Lawry is an Engineer (previously RPEQ status) with over 35 years’ experience in the development and delivery of publicly funded civil infrastructure projects. Through the course of his career, Lawry has held a variety of high level positions across both TMR (District Director, A / Regional Director) and Local Government Authorities (General Manager Design Services).
Stuart Reeves ~ Advisor - Construction
Stuart is a Professional Engineer (RPEQ) with over 37 years’ experience in the delivery of publicly funded works. Since 1998, Stuart has focused on the administration of TMR construction contracts. Stuart has lead teams on projects ranging in value from $10M up to $315M while performing the roles of Administrator/ Superintendent or Representative.
Michael Holden ~ Senior Designer (Civil)
Michael is a Designer with 16 years’ experience. He started his career with Toowoomba Regional Council in 2006 and has worked with various District and LGA’s. Michael has been influential in the delivery of various urban and rural road and intersection designs, lighting designs, on and off-road cycleway and carpark design models, engineering plans and documentation.
Bryan Doherty ~ Senior Designer (Civil)
Bryan is a highly experienced, highly competent Designer with over 17 years’ experience. Bryan holds a Bachelor of Engineering Technology (Civil) and has a broad range of experience working for both public and private sector clients. Over a long period of time Bryan has successfully demonstrated his ability to both manage design teams and work autonomously.
Mitch King ~ Engineer (Civil)
Mitch has over 11 years’ experience in the civil construction industry in roles for both the Principal and Principal Contractor. This experience working for the Principal Contractor assists Mitch now as a part of Contract Administration teams. Mitch’s focus on quality, systems and safety control sees him held in high regard by those who have worked with him in the past.
Amy Bowman ~ Technical Officer
Amy’s career in Local Government and broad experience in this area is highly applicable to her day to day role with CRC. Amy has been involved in Local Government maintenance and preservation of assets, project management and contract administration. Amy has worked closely with TMR and has knowledge and understanding of DTMR standards and specifications.
Clint Brook ~ Senior Inspector
Clint is an Inspector with over 25 years’ industry experience working for both TMR and LGA’s. Clint has worked delivering publicly and private funded works primarily to TMR specifications and has a client-based focus in delivering value for money outcomes and quality projects. Clint has a well-rounded career in the planning and delivery of construction.
Stephen Clark ~ Inspector
Stephen is an Inspector with well over 30 years’ experience with both Local Government Authorities and State Governments. Stephen spent the early years of his career with Local Government learning road construction ‘from the ground up’. Since transitioning to the role of Inspector in 2008, Stephen has successfully delivered services to a variety of clients including TMR.
Integrated Management Systems
CRC has an Integrated Management System covering all occupational health and safety, environmental and quality considerations. It is third party certified to ISO 9001 standard and further certifications to ISO 45001 (OH&S) and ISO 14001 (Environmental) are in progress.
